Everything is less overwhelming and more calm

I found the course enriching and very positive. I’ve gained a lot of benefit from mindfulness, everything is less overwhelming and more calm. I’m also able to stop and catch myself before I spin off into unhelpful thoughts which I’m very appreciative of. It gave me a new perspective, alternative ways to approach things

I was welcome despite my setbacks

Nicole was very kind, patient and thoughtful throughout the course. Her instruction and guidance during the exercises put me at ease, I felt very present, which is an ongoing struggle for me. I’ve also had issues with sleep and just functioning recently so it meant a lot that I was still welcome and could finish despite my setbacks. I really looked forward to, and got a lot out of the Sunday sessions. I actually hated Sundays until I did the course, so my perspective there has changed as well

I really enjoyed my time in the eight-week MBSR course with Nic. The course was structured in a logical way, which enabled me to learn the skills at an appropriate pace. I was not sure what to expect but gained a lot more than I was looking for

I commenced mindfulness to manage a chronic pain condition. Since the course my pain has reduced and I am also able to cope mentally with its effects. However, I went on a journey which not only assisted with pain management but opened up new ways of living in a world which is often demanding. Nicole is a gifted teacher who gave generously of her knowledge about not only stress physiology but theories behind mindfulness and its benefits. It is a practice I found assists in life on so many levels. It allows for different ways of living with our everyday realities. I observed all my group members benefit from her gentle instruction which was offered with the utmost kindness, as we each found our way with this new skill. No matter what the challenges or reasons for participating, most people felt benefits. I was not sure what to expect but gained a lot more than I was looking for

The course allowed me to connect with myself

The 8-week MBSR course is a mind-challenging adventure that allowed me to connect with myself. This course taught me life skills and values that I will continue to strengthen through mindful meditation and it has changed the way I react and interact with society. Nicole’s humble and insightful method of teaching, encouraged me to use mindful meditation as a tool to become a ‘human being and not a human doing’, to face the stresses in life with an openness, and she allowed a safe space for myself and others to share experiences. This course is a life commitment worth sticking to

I feel i’ve got more freedom from my thoughts

From completing the program, I stress less and have have stopped teeth grinding that used to occur every day. I’m also clearer about the impact of my thoughts, particularly negative ones -I feel I’ve got more freedom from them.. I would recommend the course, I got so much out of it, even though I didn’t put all the practice in

It is good to be able to experience calmness

After doing Nic’s program, I feel that I can now deal with my emotions in a healthier way. It is good to be able to experience calmness. I found it most helpful learning how my thoughts about something often caused the suffering rather than the original concern. Now I need to convince my adult kids to do it!
